Big Brother is watching you

"For whom, it suddenly occurred to him to wonder, was he writing this diary? For the future, for the unborn? ... For the first time the magnitude of what he had undertaken came home to him. How could you communicate with the future? It was of its nature impossible. Either the future would resemble the present in which case it would not listen to him, or it would be different from it, and his predicament would be meaningless."  -
Winston Smith, from Orwell's 1984

This is the arguement that has been going on in my head for the past couple years. I'm biased towards Hayek, but Keynes has more data to back up his theories... or is the data merely the Pretense of Knowledge. If so, are incomplete economic models better than none at all?

My three-year break from this website is coming to an end. I think it's time to give this old site a long-overdue facelift.

Here's an election prediction for you all. The next president of the United States of America will be... a Republicrat.

I know. It completely ruins the fun when somebody gives away the ending to the story. My apologies.

Today is the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea party. This is the day that Americans colonist finally got fed up with King George's collusion with corporations and decided to do something about it!

What's that you say? Your 8th grade text book told you that it had something to do with taxes? . . . and it was because they were tired of monarchy, so they decided to dump the King's tea into the harbor? Not Exactly. In fact, the problem was that the King cut taxes for one particular corporation -- the East India Trading Company -- in 1787, and this tax cut was offset by a tax on tea in the colonies. This "tax break" allowed this company to sell their tea in England for a much lower price. (In fact, the total price Americans paid for tea --even after the 3 pence tax -- was actually 9 pence lower than under the original import tax). But, this unfair advantage for the East India company pissed off American tea growers, who were unable to compete. All of this corporatism pissed off Americans so much that they committed an act of terrorism and threw East India's tea overboard when it arrived in Boston.

And BTW . . . modern Americans are once again getting fed up with tyrannical corporate collusion in their government, and are holding a fund-raiser that will help overthrow the new "King George", and which will help propel Ron Paul to the White House to take the place of the old neocon tyrants. www.ronpaul2008.com

It is 4am central time, and Ron Paul's website currently shows that he has raised over 7.2 MILLION DOLLARS this quarter. He started yesterday with 2.7 million dollars, which brings his single-day haul to approximately 4.5 MILLION DOLLARS. Remember, remember the 5th of November, indeed!!!

And just in case you're keeping score, Dr. Paul had about 5.3 million dollars on hand at the end of the last quarter. He's undoubtedly spent a couple million already in the run-up to the primaries, but it's probably safe to say that the Ron Paul campaign is currently sitting on a campaign war-chest of around $10 MILLION DOLLARS! This means that he has about the same amount of cash on hand as Giuliani and Romney (if not more).

So is there still anybody out there that considers a Ron Paul presidency a "long-shot"? If there are, I'd love to hear the logic they utilizing to reach this conclusion! The only hurdle still remaining for the Ron Paul campaign is that Dr. Paul's "name recognition" is still pretty low -- somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15% amongst the general public. But with $10 million bucks in the bank available for advertising, I think that little name-recognition problem is about to become a thing of the past.

Remember, Remember,
This 5th of November,
The patriot money-bomb plot.

For Ron Paul's the reason,
That this campaign season,
We're giving it all that we've got.

Send one hundred dollars,
And tell talk show callers,
To answer sweet liberty's call.

Remember, Remember,
This 5th of November,
Give one hundred bucks to Ron Paul.

     - Darwin Scott Wycherley

This "Money Bomb Plot" has been underway for two hours now, and as of 2am $600,000 has already been raised. If this keeps up at this rate, that would amount to 7.2 MILLION DOLLARS in a single day! Of course, such projections are probably premature, but even if Dr. Paul's campaign "only" pulls away with half that amount, it would still be impressive none-the-less.

UPDATE: As of 12:30pm, the campaign has raised 2 MILLION DOLLARS! Not two shabby for a grassroots fundraiser -- a fundraiser conceived by some YouTube user, and which was spread by word of mouth without any major media coverage (and even without any help from the official campaign itself)!

Register to Vote!! -- Ron Paul raised over $5 million last quarter, which has prompted Gambling911.com to slash Ron Paul's odds down to 6 to 1 (which is far better than the 200 to 1 odds he started with a few months ago). Both of these indicators (Fundraising and odds) puts Paul on an equal footing with the other "top tier" candidates.

This recent success is starting to scare the hell out of the NeoCons who control the GOP. As a result, many states are starting to close their "open primaries" in an effort to keep out Paul's broad political base. This last-minute change will result in many former Democrats and Independents being prohibited from voting for their candidate of choice. You now must be registered as a Republican in order to cast a ballot for Ron Paul in the Primaries. And the law in many states requires you to register in the next week or so. So if you want to secure you right to vote, get off your ass and register.... NOW!!!

So while it is extremely disturbing to know that NeoCons are working hard to disenfranchise the American voting public, the good news is that it only takes a couple minutes to register. Just go to rockthevote.com, fill out the form, and mail it in. You may only have a few days to do this before your state's deadline, so DON'T DELAY!

Ron Paul to appear on The Daily Show with John Stewart!! -- "Mr. Pickles" (Stewart's name for Paul) will be guest on tonite's show (June 4th, 2007). This appearance could prove to be just what the doctor ordered, giving Dr. Paul the national television exposure he needs on the eve of the GOP presidential debates to take place tomorrow in New Hampshire. GO RON PAUL!!!

Ron Paul is continuing to confuse and enrage the pundits.

I wonder what Sean Hannity and the rest of Faux News is going to do after Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination. Support Hillary? The candicy of Ron Paul and the media's reaction to it highlights the trouble that America is in. This presidential race is not a battle between Democrats and Republicans or Right verses Left. It is between the establishment and the American people. If we don't win this one, we might not get another chance. Those in power will never allow another person like Ron Paul to catch them off guard again. Onward to victory, my dear comrades!!

The 2nd GOP debate will be on the Fox News Channel tonight at 9pm EDT. Tune in and watch Ron Paul totally pwn the NneoCon competition. And be sure to let Fox know who really won the debate --- CLICK HERE to find out how.

UPDATE - Ron Paul is currently winning the Fox news poll with 30% of the vote, beating out 2nd place Romney by 2 points. GO RON!! I'm sure that this high level of result is due to the fact that he used the word "newspeak" to describe the phrase "enhanced interrogations". Doubleplusgood!

Not to be outdone by ABCNews.com's censorship of Dr. Paul, MySpace (which is owned by Fox News Corporation) is blocking comments about Ron Paul on their website as well. Simply unbelievable. anybody who tries to send a MySpace bulletin to their friends about Ron Paul is given a message that their account has been "phished" and their account is immediately blocked. You need to see this for yourself.

(Click video during playback to see larger version)

Of course, there is absolutely no evidence of Ron Paul supporters phishing people's accounts in order to send out bogus messages. I haven't heard a single complaint about a MySpace user having his account hijacked by some devious Ron Paul supporter. The only explanation is that they simply do not want people talking about Ron Paul and are attempting to use this charge of "phishing" as an excuse to block messages about him. It's hard to believe that they would resort to this sort of thing. Someone needs to find the system admin who initiated this block and ask him a few questions.

Last week, I mentioned the presidential campaign of non-neocon Republican Congressman Ron Paul. This week, the internet is abuzz with talk about his candidacy, much to the dismay of the traditional media. Dr. Paul handily won a post-debate online poll hosted by msnbc.com, and the media outlet responded to this surprising result by writing an article which declared the 2nd place candidate (Mitt Romney) the winner, while completely snubbing Paul. The charade was continued by abcnews.com, who wrote an article that suggested that Paul's success in every online poll was due to internet hackers. This suggestion caused a firestorm of responses to the abcnews.com comment pages, to which the media outlet responded by DELETING ALL OF THE POSTS!!!

You can learn about theses disturbing developments here. You can even comment about them if you like. And I promise that unlike abcnews.com, we won't shove your comments down the memory hole.

There is a non-neocon Republican seeking the Republican nomination in 2008. Congressman Ron Paul announced his candidacy a few weeks ago, and he is starting to receive a lot of grassroots support from "teh internets" (Particularly on YouTube). Take a look at what he has to say.

Excellent news comrades!!! The Newspeak Wiktionary is almost ready to be unveiled! Soon, all of these tired old HTML pages with be replaced with dynamic prole-contributed material. I've heard news that "All over Oceania this morning there were irrepressible spontaneous demonstrations when workers marched out of factories and offices and paraded through the streets with banners voicing their gratitude to Big Brother for the new, happy life which his wise leadership has bestowed upon us." Nothing makes the proles happier than freely edited NewSpeak content!
