Propaganda from the Libertarian Party
Propaganda from 'our' side.

Libertarian
The Libertarian Party ran more than 1430 candidates in the 2000 elections, more than twice as many as all other third parties combined. They fielded candidates for 255 of the 435 seats in the U.S House as well as 25 of the 33 Senate seats up for election -- the first time in eighty years that any third party has contested a majority of the seats in Congress. The Libertarian slate of U.S. House candidates received 1.7 million votes, the first time any third party has received over a million votes for U.S. House.

And part of the reason for this success was an aggressive advertising campaign. Take a look at some of these commercials that aired before the election.

Things that make my heart pound:

Riding the train at night. Walking home in the dark. Paying high taxes for a police force that can't keep the streets safe.

Why don't the police spend less time writing parking tickets and more time locking away the people who ought to be in jail - like that angry thug leering at you from across the train?

It's because over half the tax dollars spent for law enforcement and the criminal justice system are exhausted on victimless crimes, like jailing scofflaws and recreational drug users.

Unfortunately the cops are only doing what the lawmakers tell them to do. Maybe it's time to replace those lawmakers with people who believe that government's role is to protect people from criminals. Not from themselves. Then I'd feel a whole lot better. And Safer.

One of our goals is to legalize drugs.

Sound like the kind of party you'd like to join?

Don't get us wrong. We are not in favor of drug use. However, Prohibition taught us making drugs illegal doesn't make people stop using them. But it does keep criminals in business by keeping prices and profits high. In Holland and other countries, legalization has not only decreased crime, but addiction levels as well. Something the hundreds of billions we've spent on the war on drugs hasn't accomplished.

The way to win this war is to understand the real enemy is not the people who take drugs, but the lawmakers who turn them into criminals by passing anti-drug laws. We're not looking to turn our country into dope heads. We'd settle for getting the dopes in Washington to stop legislating people's lives and realize there are better ways to spend our tax dollars.

When a business misspends all the money from the employee's retirement fund it's called fraud.

When out government does the same thing it's called Social Security.

Still believe the money you're forced to put into social security is being saved for your retirement? Truth is, it's been spent on everything but -- by a government that needed to dip into your savings to pay for a budget deficit the created by waste, mismanagement, and featherbedding. And the hundreds of thousands of dollars you paid over your work career are not going to be there when you're 65.

If this pisses you off like it does us, stop by our website and help us turn this boat around before it crashes and sinks like that one in the iceberg movie.

If your think this is a lot of waste, you should see what the government does with your tax money.

Few organizations are as inefficient and wasteful as the U.S. Government. But then, if they ever come up short, they just tax you a little more. And waste a little more. Think this sucks? Stop by our web site and help us put a stop to this garbage.
