The Resistance
Other acts of Crimethink on the web
The Leadership:
- The Libertarian Party
- Libertarians believe the answer to America's political problems is the same commitment to freedom that earned America its greatness: a free-market economy and the abundance and prosperity it brings; a dedication to civil liberties and personal freedom that marks this country above all others; and a foreign policy of non-intervention, peace, and free trade as prescribed by America's founders.
- The Cato Institute
- the Cato Institute is a nonpartisan public policy research foundation that seeks to broaden the parameters of public policy debate to allow consideration of more options that are consistent with the traditional American principles of limited government, individual liberty, and peace. Toward that goal, the Institute strives to achieve greater involvement of the intelligent, concerned lay public in questions of policy and the proper role of government.
- The Institute for Justice
- The Libertarian's answer to the UCLU. As our nation's only libertarian public interest law firm, they pursue cutting-edge litigation in the courts of law and in the court of public opinion on behalf of individuals whose most basic rights are denied by the State - rights like economic liberty, private property rights, and the right to free speech, not only on paper but also on the Internet.
Political Activists:
- Marijuana Policy Project
- The Marijuana Policy Project works to minimize the harm associated with marijuana -- both the consumption of marijuana, and the laws that are intended to prohibit such use. MPP believes that the greatest harm associated with marijuana is prison. To this end, MPP focuses on removing criminal penalties for marijuana use, with a particular emphasis on making marijuana medically available to seriously ill people who have the approval of their doctors
- National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws
- Since its founding in 1970, NORML has provided a voice in the public policy debate for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting marijuana smokers. A nonprofit public-interest advocacy group, NORML represents the interests of the tens of millions of Americans who smoke marijuana responsibly.

- Kill your TV.
Politcal Science Department.
-
www.thememoryhole.org - The Memory Hole exists to preserve and spread material that is in danger of being lost, is hard to find, or is not widely known. The emphasis is on material that exposes things that we're not supposed to know (or that we're supposed to forget).
-
Information Clearing House - Similar to The Memory Hole.
- Classic Thoughtcrime by various Authors. Dalai Lama, George Orwell, Lysander Spooner, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Others.
- American Newspeak
- A satirical e-zine celebrating cutting edge advances in Orwell's Doublespeak. Posted bi-weekly except in August.
- Racial Violence Statistics Page
(miror site)
- Facts and figures on "Hate Crimes" (with links to official sources). It turns out that is is not "whites" who are the true "Hate Criminals".
- libertarianism.org
- That's libertarian with a small "L".
- Anarchist Theory FAQ
- Libertarianism comes in many flavors. Most people are familiar with the "Free Market, Limited Government" style of libertarianism, but this is not the only kind. There also exist anarcho-socialists, anarcho-syndicalists, anarcho-communists, anarcho-capitalist, and plain-old Anarchist -- all of which consider themselves to be true "libertarians". This web site explains the differences between these seemingly disparate, but similar groups. This site will help you understand how an apparent Anti-government libertarian such as George Orwell could consider himself to be a "Socialist". (You'll see that he was, in fact, a "Libertarian-Socialist")
Science Department:
- Junkscience.com
- "Junk science" is faulty scientific data and analysis used to used to further a special agenda. Do you believe that scientist haven proven that "Global Warming" exists, or that diapers cause impotence, or that Cell Phones cause cancer? The Junkman examines the studies that were used to make these claims, which generally show the claims to be completely baseless. A must read.
- Still Waiting for Greenhouse - Similar to Junkscience.com, except that this site is specifically devoted to the junk science of Global Warming.
Media Studies:
- Toon Zone
- The Toon Zone presents the Censored Cartoons Page. This site chronicles all of the "revisions" made to popular cartoons by the Major Networks. I had long been aware that cartoons were routinely edited for 'violent' and/or 'politically incorrect' content, but I had no idea just how extensive the problem really was. This site demonstrates that virtually no cartoon made before the 60's has gone untouched. The Ministry of Truth has been busier than I thought.
- Who Rules America?
- There is no greater power in the world today than that wielded by the manipulators of public opinion in America. No king or pope of old, no conquering general or high priest ever disposed of a power even remotely approaching that of the few dozen men who control America's mass media of news and entertainment.

-
Libertarian National Socialist Green Party
-
Not as crazy as they sound... In their own words, the LNSGP is, "an independent political movement dedicated to restoring autonomy to the citizen, equity to the opportunity presented within society, a change in attitudes toward normative objectives, a reduction of legal complexity and applications to the individual, a focus on ensuring rights and freedom for all Americans, an environmental policy which puts our children before our immediate needs, an immigrant naturalization plan, and a return to the focus on justice and individual rights in America."
